After getting of work today, I desided it was a good evening to stay home and relax. Which has now turned into boat/basement time. I've sent my days of this week working on the basement, so it seemed right to spend time on the boat, don't want it to be jealous!! Thought I was just spend a bit of time gluing the templates onto the forms, but found I wanted to do a bit more once that was done. So I kept going
I posted pics of me cutting out the templates, but a couple days ago, I ruff choped pieces out of the MDF for each template to be glued to. I did have enough forsight to number each block as well, to make it easier to match up later. So once glued today, I set up the bansaw, and started at it. It had a port to hook the shopvac up to, which is nice with using MDF (I also wore a mask, cause the stuff gets everywhere). After a couple of pieces I found the light a little low, so attched a lamp to the top, much easier.

My work area with the final two pieces left. Figured I'd leave the two small ones for the end, case I did shorten my hand.
All the forms cut. These will be slid along the strongback apart. The top two pieces of each pile, will be cut in half and attached to the bow and stern pieces you see on the left. Those then cap the strongback to bring te boat lenght up to 17 feet. Before that step, I have to finish off the forms by sanding them back to the line, and fare them off. Also cut out the centers to fit on the strong back. So, couple hours of sanding, a hour of detailed cutting, couple hours triming and planing the strongback, 3-4 hours placing and leveling the forms, then! one to the strip cutting! Really looking forward to seeing the shape of boat. Maybe this coming weekend!
