Not much of a post today, just a quick update. Since last month I have had much time to really work on the boat at all. I've neen gathering up some more of the tools need , and trying to get everything in order so when I start I can just do it. I got a loan of a router from me fadder, so I was working on a stable table surface to mount the router table to. This table will also be used the mount the table table sander (which I also got a loan off) and what ever else come around. I made it short, 24", but turns into a perfect work high for the router and gives lots of space under for laying tools. I made the top about 2' x3' and used some of the left over 3/4" mdf from the strong back and some other wood I had laying around. My job has had me busy the past while, thus the lack of progress. Been work 11-14 hour days since the 9th now, so by the time I get home, I'm really not in the mood, and I'm sure the people next door, dont want to hear a saw going at 10 pm. And when I say since the 9th, I mean just that, no weekend, or days off...
But I did get to start up again yesterday! So I've finished my little table, fixed the router to it, and have gotten it all lined up to start on the strongback again. The next step requires cutting notches on each end of the wider strips so the narrower ones fit in as to forum a 2x4 thats well glued and sturdy. shouldn't take me long to finish and glue when I get another evening to be at it.
I also picked up a small table saw yesterday. Not the best one out there, and not the one I really, really wanted, but more then enough to suit my needs. which is just ripping the scattered board and plywood. So now I just need to get the right blade and I can start cutting my strips! No rush, but nice to know when I'm ready for them, I have the means.
Thats my update for today. I'll put up pics with the next post!
