Its been bugging me since I finished up last week. The fact that i had no good pics of the boat since I started planing it. I've be going down for a few minutes here and there over the past while. It helps to burn of that bit of steam after a longs day work I find, which means I dont stare at the ceiling utnil 4 in the morning. Which is the main reason I figure i'm going to have to start another boat right away! lol.
I was working around the house most of the day, so it was a late start on the boat. But I managed to get the bottom finished off, and a bit more on the top. I think the boat is blended pretty well now, for just unsing a plane. so next will be onto the sand paper. One of the benifits of being a chef, means I'm pretty good at using a sharping stone. So when I got going and found a hidden staple, taking a nice chunk out of my blade, I was able to reshape the blade and get it sharper then ever. Nothing in the world beats the sound and feel of a really sharp palne sliding through a piece of wood. I cant imagine having a radio on while working! I just love the sound of what i'm doing way too much.
On to the shots!

So, before any one ask. Yes I know there is a hole in the bottom of the boat, running dow the middle. This was kinda done on purpose. I have to add a hardwood laminated strip running down the bow and stern. To do so, I had to plane it down flat. so there would be something for it to attach to. Above is the bow, and the stern looks the same. So no worries of the boat sinking or anything.
My next phase, after a bit of rough sanding, is to do the cockpit opening. I have to cut out the outter shape of the cockpit, then run strips run across the opening, sand, then ready for glass. Once Glassed, I'll cut out the final shape of the cockpit, and do the inside. Sounds simple right?? lol. Bellow is a pic of what the cockpit looks right now.
