After about 3 hours of hanging out in the basement Tash came down to get me, and said "well its about time you finished it!" HAHA, She didn't bother to waslk around to the other side and see if that was done as well. Of course it's not... I desided to finish the one side, then move onto the other. So I have about another 5-8 hours of work before I have this stage of the stripping done. After that, I have the wonder task of taking out the 1500 to 2000 staples that I've put in there...... Fun.... After that, I get to start the planing and sanding, something i'm really looking forard to. To finally see the boat taking its final shape. There are still a pile of things I have to do before the glassing starts. One being to laminate the bow and stern. I can see that being a but of a pain!
So heres a couple shots. One thing I should note is that, I did plan to design the top of the boat with a pattern, but didn't bother in the end, cause of the time it would have taken, and the waste of wood. Instead I matched the pattern I did on the bottom of the boat. I believe i'm happy with the choice I made, given its my first time doing a boat, it may have been taking on a bit too much trying to go fancy. Also, I'm more about getting the boat on the water, then looking like an art piece, so this made much more sence.

I should note, the gaps left in the middle are where the cockpit will be cut out. I did a ruff trace of where the cuts will be made, so I knew where i could end the strips, so I didnt waste wood. Save the earth and all that stuff.
