I'm finding myself thinking a little more ahead now. I soon have to cut the cockpit opening and cant settle on what to do with my hatches... I can either treat them like the cockpit opening, and cut out a section, put in cross strips, fiberglass it over, then attach a set of rubber hatches. This should sink the front hatch down enough that I dont end up with too much spray, but will take a little of the look from the boat. The second, fiberglass the boat, cut the hatch openings out, make a lip just uder the deck, put in a rubber seal, then either follow the instructions for building a internal wooden hatch latch (something I've read works great, but I'm worried about when upside down with a full hatch, the the dowward pressure would pop the hatch off and all my gear sinks) or, I can use a much easier strap system that hold the hatches down... But dont know how leak proof they will be as well. I really hate water in my hatches, and always had the issue of problems on multi day trips. So I really want to reliable system, but not one to get in the way of re-entries or cause spary. All comments are welcome.
Anyway, heres a crap pic, cause the cameras are still at work. But you can get the idea of it.
