On starturday I started cleaning out the garage to make room to start fitting the forms. I didn't really plan on doing any real work with it. Just get the strongback cut to size, and make place soem the forms to see if it all fit. But anyway, I got the strong back cut, and tried to fit a couple forms.... Turns out, the holes I thought were oversized, weren't even close.. I thought about using the jig saw to slowy cut a little extra out, something i really didn't want to do. it would be slow, hard the hands and messy... Other option?? take apart the router, fit it and shave the inside with a straight bit. Day was still young, Tash was gone out of town, why not! 1/2 hour later, I was setup and ready to go. I never took and pics of this, cause I was kinda in my own world and didnt' want to stop. Once setup, took no time to fix the holes, each one I checked while going.
Once done that fix, figured it was way too early to stop, more so with being this close to having something that will have some what of a boat look. After refering back to the book, and started marking of the strongback and placing all the forms. Finally, forms were close to their final resting place, and I could see what the shape of my finsihed boat looked like. It was a great feeling. I still have about 8 hours of work before I can even think about cutting the strips. But its really nice to be this far. All the other work I've done, it didn't feel like I've actually done anything. So heres the pics, and like I said, the forms are just fitted on, the stern is on a skew and nothing is level. Also those pieces I cut off and re-glue, I haven't put back on it. They don't have to be there until I strip the deck, so I'll wait until then. Less chance of me breaking them off, if their gone.
